Some of you might be saying to yourself, “Self, I wonder how many times I have refreshed www.twinliving.com to see if there are any new updates.”
Well, we at TwinLiving.com have been forced to upgrade our servers because we’re seeing such a huge spike in demand. We’re blaming most of the “page views” on Jessie and Kelly Nelson.
Just how many times has the blog bee
n served? According to our web analytics dashboard, we’ve had over 1,000 page views today alone (and it’s only 1:30pm). Have a look at the graph. (I figured my team @ a&g would appreciate a little real time data.)
Over 1,000 hits today? Seems to me that (1) these twins will be two of the most incredibly loved children in the world or (2) you guys aren’t working very hard or (3) all of the above.
Regardless, we love that you are keeping an eye on our progress. Your notes are so motivating for Kirsten and I. She smiles with every response I read her.
But I have a request: they say that laughter helps the core “push” muscles, so help me keep Kirsten entertained through the last couple hours of labor before we start to PUSH. Send along a funny joke, or a funny story, or a funny memory that you have that we can read to her as she preps for pushing. Something that will get her mind off the pain and help welcome these babies into the world all smiles.
Thanks for your continued encouragement. She wouldn’t be this far along without all of your support.
Love,
K&G&?&?

“smooth” mike (that’s what the ladies call him) wants dibs on a baby girl or TWO if you have ‘em. HEH HEH HEH. what can I say, he’s a playah. HOLLAH.

i thought k would smile at my earlier post with the thought of stuart helping her feed, bath, change the babies – like he did when she was a baby – mmm think of being in truro all summer – that’s a big smile – and yes, i agree nurses are the best – and this part will be over soon and you will have a lifetime of joy!!!

Why do the diapers at the top of the twin living blog look like bras – really big ones?
Still waiting here in the basement – I did get outside to call Ashley for an update and she said it will be later this afternoon.
Will let you know if the Cubs have won by then – even though i KNOW YOU’RE WAY MORE FOCUSED ON PUSHING!! AND COACHING!!
Lots of love, Barb

I choose 3.
My comments may not be working.
Reality TV I tell you. I’m working on the theme song….something like the Jetson’s because of the obvious similarities. “Meet Graham Nelson….K his wife….daughters ______ &__________.

Read in order – all 1 joke:
Joke 1
Why do ducks have webbed feet?
To stomp out forest fires.
Why do elephants have black under their feet?
From stomping out burning ducks.
Joke 2
How do you kill a blue elephant?
With a blue elephant gun.
How do you kill a pink elephant?
Hold its nose until it turns blue, and then shoot it with your blue elephant gun.
I dont know why I have so many elephant jokes in my repertoire?

Hang in there, Kirsten! Frank and I are in awe of the fact that you made it to term – what an accomplishment. Those beautiful babies will be out soon. And we’ll be sure to share every twin-tip we can think of for surviving the first few months. You guys will do great!!
June 18, 2009 at 6:24 pm
I have refreshed about every 3 minutes since yesterday. And I don’t have much work. It’s a slow week. And I just love those babies so much already! There are so many little people excited to see them too, like Maggie, for instance, who asked if Graham also go to the hospital to get the babies with KiKi? Did Wrigley go tooooo?
I think that jokes aside, one thing you can definitely do during the pushing is grab a hair net, a bottle of water for a mic, and start doing the running man (in your yellow crocs) and sing Salt n Pepa’s “Shut Up! Push It! Push it Real Good!” and if that doesn’,t work, you KNOW she likes “More Than Words” by Extreme – sung loudly and off-key!

Wish I had something funny to say but during my maternity leave my brain has turned to mush and my sense of humor is on par with Elliot’s so most of my laughs are about Noah projectile pooping all over me and Elliot falling on the floor in hysterics about it (which makes me laugh even though I am covered in mustard poop) or Elliot ‘helping’ me while I pump – you had to be there… actually it isn’t that funny even if you are. Good luck Kirsten and Graham, there is nothing sweeter than the sound of the first screech (from the babies that is)… Lots of love coming your way.

Totally guilty of being a super clicker on twinliving. Relatively busy at work but HAVE TO KNOW what is going on with K,G and the little friends. For some mixed media news, our poppies bloomed today (or maybe yesterday when i was in boston), so sending K some flowers! http://share.shutterfly.com/action/welcome?sid=8JbNmLNq0Yq0

I am so proud to be a top viewer!!! Even with a newborn and a 20 month old I still have the time to surf and read. (That and my trusty iPhone!!) See, having twins will be a piece of cake
I look forward to having someone to commiserate with at 2 am! Let’s get these babies here already. To quote graham, it sure is hot in this rhino! Xo

I count for 999 of the hits! Can’t wait to see you guys. Keep up the good work. Claire is so excited to teach these babies to say hi, ball and mom. Her vocab is limited but its makes for a very interesting conversation. It’s amazing how many times you can re-purpose the world ball. Try it in your hospital room. Ready…go…anything slightly round is considered a ball. How many can you count?

I’ll tell you a joke if you give us a dilation status

Tell K I was so nervous that she would “go” while I was in my only scheduled meeting in 2 days (from 2-3pm today) that I had my phone on me and on “loud” just in case. Not only did my phone ring during the meeting, I was also thoroughly embarrassed because it started playing “Baby Got Back” (in honor of the new babies).
I got a few good chuckles…and hopefully the other person there with me did too.
Little in the middle but she’s got much back!
My a-n-a-c-o-n-d-a don’t want none unless you’ve got buns hun!
June 18, 2009 at 7:38 pm
I am thinking of you. PUSH PUSH. All the Gerstmayrs are so excited for you! I can’t wait to hear the news!!!!
June 18, 2009 at 7:49 pm
This is a few posts old, but here is my Coldplay song request for Kirsten. “White Shadows” (my alltime favorite Coldplay song) – here’s to getting everything you want in life, like… twins!!!
June 18, 2009 at 7:57 pm
This response comes from Uncle Nipper…
Pickle asks College, “Is tonight a time you would like to see Austin (Powers)?”
College replies: “Yes, I definitely want to see him!”
Uncle Nipper chimes in: “With or without his clothes on?”….oh yeah…
As the beer die gods don’t normally say: Twins…Get out!
June 18, 2009 at 8:10 pm
enjoy the very intimate delivery room, by the way! i’m betting on quite a circus, two sets of NICU folks at the ready, etc… lordy. take lots of pictures!
June 18, 2009 at 8:26 pm
You know when Nipper is looking at Design Magazine with Dad he’s ready for these twins to arrive! He feels so lucky to have this time to bond with Pedro about Mahogany bathtubs for the guest house. GOOD LUCK!!! WE LOVE YOU!!! As I said, 6:12 pm. Twin Instinct?

experiencing twinliving withdrawal. loving the comments, but missing the man behind the curtain. let’s see, are you:
1. crocs off, feet up and resting up
2. making a beer run (by my calculations it is almost cocktail hour)
3. right in the middle of 13 going on 30
4. getting verbally abused by K (there will be more of this to come, sorry)
5. halfway to mexico b/c it just hit you are having mother-effing twins.
I wonder how many more lists I can post on your blog. first thing on list: make list.
