So, we started our pushing around 5pm and now we’re on a break to let K’s body rest and recover. Given that we’ve tricked her body into labor, all of her key labor muscles (like the uterus) are exhausted. The doctor described it like being at the gym working out for 36 hours straight. (I assured her that I wouldn’t know what 36 minutes straight at the gym would feel like.)
So know we wait some more for the pitocin to kick our contractions back up so we can start pushing again.
Maureen finished her shift at 7p and we left her with a big hug. She was so helpful today Our old friend Joanne is back with us to take us home.

please tell K she is a rock star. Nay, better than a rock star. I would like to see Bret Michaels survive labor.
Hang in there!! oh, and this might be controversial, but don’t hesitate to send those babies to the nursery tonight so you guys can get some sleep. I can’t imagine how tired K must be.

Kirsten, you are so admirable! I can’t even fathom doing what you are doing!! You can do it!! You are almost there!!! You will get to hold those sweet babies in your arms SOO soon:) and I second KC ok the nursery. It is so worth it! Seriously cannot wait to hear the news soon! Love to you both. What would we do without this blog ???

Round 2, Kirsten!! Let the adrenaline take over even though you are so tired at this point. I had to take a little “breather” too at this point. Just think, you are getting your work out for the rest of the year…no going to the gym anymore.
