After a couple days on the delivery floor, we’ve graduated to the Nursery Floor. Beautiful views of the Charles combined with US Open coverage has made Kirsten very happy.

We’re excited to be closer to the peanuts. We’ve alredy had a couple amazing blowouts that have challenged the structural integrity of these diapers.

Hugs and kisses from the 13th floor.

Now into our 28th hour here at MGH and Kirsten and I can say one thing definitively: the nurses here are great. You already read about Joanne, our night nurse who helped us reach a couple key milestones. Well, meet Maureen: she took over this morning and has been keeping Kirsten comfortable, relaxed, and happy. No small task when you are trying to jumpstart a body into labor.

Maureen has a gentle touch and a warmth about her. She also knows how to deliver “Nurse’s Orders”: Time to eat. Time to rest. Time to shower. She know best and it’s comforting having her.

So when I grow up, I want to be a nurse at MGH. Think of how many families Maureen and the team have helped. Mind boggling to try to comprehend.

Thank you Maureen.

Nurse’s Orders this morning were for Graham to take a shower. (Insert Beef & Cheese Reference here.) The shower was refreshing but I discovered quickly that there is something worse than hospital sleep and hospital food…HOSPITAL TOWELS. They are like a mix between wrapping paper, sand paper, and tarmac.

MGH has been so good to us so far. But it’s time for some new towels, guys. :)
